Family historians can copy short extracts from a GENUKI web page and include such extracts in family trees and associated material in printed or electronic form, free of charge and without seeking permission. However, extracts of this material should be credited to the original author(s) and/or data source, in the form of the URL (web page address) of the page from which the information was obtained, and should acknowledge GENUKI as the source.
Commercial use, and/or any copy of a substantial section of text or many small sections of text, any copy of a graphic, map or picture, requires explicit permission from GENUKI. For such permission, please contact Peter Christian, by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, in the first instance specifying the material and web page. The question will be referred to the maintainer of the specific page or pages.
Anyone intending to write an article about GENUKI and/or the GENUKI service might find the following list of papers published previously of some use.
During the lifetime of the GENUKI service we have received a large number of awards, positive reviews and excellent reader feedback. The awards are listed here and a list of congratulations from our readers is here.
For those who wish to borrow them, we have a number of items that can be used for publicity purposes on stands at fairs, supporting talks and lectures etc.
Unless otherwise stated, all material on the GENUKI website is subject to UK Copyright law, and is intended only for personal use. Distributed elsewhere, or to any other website, is forbidden. For further information see our Statement of Copyright and Accuracy, which also includes a definition of the standards to which we adhere in our transcriptions.
