The parish was merged with Cockburnspath, Innerwick and Oldhamstocks in 1994 to form Dunglass Parish. In 2022, the decision was taken to close Oldhamstocks Church, and maintain Cockburnspath as the active church.
The current building dates from 1701, however, it appears to have been built on the site of an older church, dedicated to St Michael, dating from around the 12th or 13th Centuries.
